Men have different personalities and different lifestyles. Whether you’re married or thinking about getting married to a man, you’ll find your man on the list below!
Read on to explore some of the different personality types of men, and how to deal with them if you’re married to one or thinking about it!
1. The Workaholic
He’s a hard working man who has no problem spending long hours at the office. He is often very ambitious and driven, which is why he’s working so hard. It might seem like he’s not there, but he really cares about his family!
It can be easy to feel ignored because he’s so busy with work. Make sure to ask for his input on things that are happening in your life.
2. The Domestic
The domestic guy usually enjoys spending time at home with his family, and can also be the dad that ends up doing all the cooking and taking care of your backyard garden! These men are typically pretty laid-back, and are really great listeners when you need to vent about something going on in your life.
It’s not too difficult to spend quality one-on-one time with this guy because he doesn’t have much going on outside of work and family responsibilities.
3. The Take-charge Guy
This “tough guy” always wants to be the leader in their marriage. He will go on every single adventure with his wife and they’ll have an amazing time together! These types of husbands are very adventurous people, so make sure you’re up for anything when you agree to go out with him, because he won’t take no for an answer! You’ll never know where this man might want to go.
This type of man has been the leader of most aspects of their lives since they were young, so it has been part of who they are deep down – from childhood on.
Be careful: If they’re making all financial decisions without consulting with you first or telling you exactly where the kids need to go after school, it could lead to many arguments. Make sure you know where you stand on important matters ahead of time.
4. The Coach Potato
This type of husband is someone who just doesn’t do anything. They’ll watch TV for hours on end and never get up to see what their wife is doing.
If this sounds like your partner, try having a conversation with them about how they can find something else that might be more stimulating!
5. The Helpful Husband
The helpful husband does everything his wife asks of him without hesitation. He’s the type of guy who would take out the trash or wash dishes without being told because he wants to make sure she’s happy and has free time for other things.
You’ll know when you have found yourself one these guys because they’re very caring people, and it shows – in all they do and everything they say!
6. The Entitled Husband
A lot of these men have no problem telling their wives that they deserve to be waited on hand and foot, especially if they’re the breadwinner. Many wives might think this is romantic at first, but it can make them feel bad about themselves in the long run.
If he has always been a “mommy’s boy”, he might not have any idea how adult since he’s used to being taken care of. He will end up feeling upset when you say no or want something different then what he thinks will work best for your family.
Don’t let him take advantage of you by making all the big decisions without asking what you want! This is super important for your self-worth.
7. The Nomad
The nomadic guys give up a stable life because they’re deeply drawn to wanderlust. They’re always planning the next big adventure that’s coming and will leave work, relationships or family at the drop of a hat.
This type of husband may not want to commit to staying in one location for a long time, so it may be difficult to build a traditional life with them.
8. The Perfectionist
The perfectionist is a high-achiever who expects to be the best at everything, and if they’re not, then there’s something wrong. They need to have all their ducks in a row before moving forward with anything.
This type of husband might expect you or your kids to work harder than anybody else because it needs to be perfect for them.
9. The Deep-thinker
These husbands are always looking inwardly and trying to figure out what makes people happy so that he can become one too. He doesn’t really want fame or fortune but instead wants peace from within himself and others around him by sharing love unconditionally ((deep breath)). In fact, he’s the type of husband that will always be more understanding than critical.
10. The Romantic
As a man, the romantic needs to feel loved and appreciated by you as much as possible – and wants to make you happy in return. He’ll go out of his way for you because you make him feel alive and needed. These husbands become one with their partner, and would never leave them even during bad times – because together, they’re unbreakable!
However, if don’t reciprocate his loving gestures, he might stop trying – which can lead to resentment over time.
11. The Flirt
It’s not uncommon for these husbands to be serial daters, but with the right partner they can learn to settle down. If he feels like you’re his best option, he’ll put in more effort and do things that make you feel loved and needed (like buying you flowers or making your favorite dinner).
However, if he feels like there are other options out there (or better ones) then it becomes a problem – because he won’t have patience waiting on someone who might never reciprocate the same feelings.
12. The Insecure husband
If he’s insecure, he might be a bit too clingy or worried about his wife’s every move. He’ll have difficulty trusting her, because he doesn’t want to lose the most important person in his life. If she leaves him, then everything else is gone for him as well.
Paranoid men can be hard to date because they’re always jealous, and constantly looking for signs that you might cheat on them.
13. The Neglectful Husband
He doesn’t want to be a burden, and won’t offer help with household chores or anything else he deems too difficult.
They prefer the company of his friends or even another woman – because helping out at home makes him feel like less of a man, which can lead to resentment in the relationship.
14. The Family Guy
This type of husband will always put their spouse before everyone else, even when it means hurting their own feelings or neglecting other relationships with friends and family members. It’s just what needs to happen so that everyone can thrive together!
Family men are the perfect choice for settling down with, as they will always be there for their wife and children
15. The Outgoing Husband
He can get along with anyone in any situation, which does wonders when it comes to making friends or building business connections. This guy is an amazing friend and family member once given attention from those around him.
However if he feels like you don’t reciprocate his feelings for you or if you don’t spend enough time together, it can lead to resentment.
16. The happy-go-lucky husband
This type of guy doesn’t really care what anyone thinks or says about him, as long as he’s living life to its fullest! He loves exploring every opportunity with you by his side, and even though there are some bumps on the way, nothing will stop the two of you from enjoying each other’s company.
17. The luxury husband
This man spends money wherever he goes and is very generous with his wife. He’s happy to do anything she wants and will spoil her at every chance he gets! The only downside of this type of husband is that he might feel like you’re his prized possession, so they’e usually the most controlling.
The benefits of being with a rich man are obvious, but make sure you aren’t blinded by all the gifts you are receiving.
18. The Sweetie
This guy is really sweet, and while it could be seen as a bit soft, when push comes to shove there’s no one better than him. He always listens to your side even if he doesn’t agree with you entirely.
As long as the conversation ends on positive terms then everything should be just fine between these two partners.
19. The Serial Cheater
If your partner isn’t faithful then chances are he will do whatever he wants with whoever he pleases, so don’t expect your relationship to last long under these circumstances. Be careful with men who you think may cheat or have cheated in the past – you’re playing with fire.
20. The Rebel
This man will most likely be the first to say that he doesn’t want a relationship, but you can tell by his actions that it’s just a front. He hangs out with girls and likes flirting, so it’s common for people to see him as an irresponsible jerk – but in reality all this guy needs is someone who understands them more than anybody else!
21. The Introvert
The introvert is an independent person who enjoys spending their time learning, reading, watching documentaries, or engaging in other intellectually stimulating activities. They don’t need to spend all day talking about superficial topics, but do enjoy well thought out conversations every once in a while.
The hard part for the wife of this type of husband will be making sure they have enough alone time throughout the week. Introverts are prone to becoming easily stressed when overwhelmed by contact with others.
Do you recognize which type your husband is?
If you’re not married yet, it’s important to look at his traits and consider what type of husband he will become. If your potential husband might end up being a couch potato, it might not work in the long run.
